11 weeks

Today I am 11 weeks! Is the time going by fast to just me? Wow! Feels like I was just 4 weeks! Today was the first visit at the OB with Dr. McKee at St. Vincent's. While I love the doctor, I hate how big and busy the office is... We were there for 3 hours!!!! Sheesh! They drew 6 vials of blood and according to my weight, I have gained 7 pounds so far. Hey hey hey... There is 2 in there! Haha! We had an ultrasound and will have an ultrasound every visit because they are twins and they can't track their growth by measuring my belly. We heard their sweet heartbeats for the first time today!!! It was beautiful music to our ears! They don't let you hear heartbeats at the ART program so this was a fun first! Both babies were moving a lot but baby A was by far the most active one, it was doing flips! Baby A's heart rate was 173 and baby B's heart rate was 163. Both were measuring perfect but baby B is a little bigger. My guess is that baby A is a girl and baby B is a boy but that's just my guess and mostly because I dream I have a boy and a girl all the time! We met with Dr. McKee and he spoke about some specifics with twins but what shocked me is that he said I will probably not be able to work after 30 weeks! I'm going to need to kick it in high gear and get some stuff done, that's not a lot of time and it will go by quickly! He said everything looks great with both babies and he wants us to come back in 4 weeks which is June 18th. Also he wants us to have a targeted ultrasound at UAB between 18-20 weeks which is just routine for all twin pregnancies. A targeted ultrasound is a very detailed and thorough ultrasound. Next Friday, we are having a NT scan done at a high risk doctors office at Brookwood. An NT scan looks at the nuchal fold on the back of the babies neck to rule out genetic abnormalities. We decided to electively have this done mostly because the doctor said the ultrasound is very specialized and they can usually see the gender of the babies, haha!!!!! Soooo... Tentatively we may know what the sex of both babies next Friday. Also, it will be great assurance to know both babies are healthy.  God is certainly been so faithful and we are just so thankful that both babies continue to grow like they should! We continue to pray for their health and my health as this pregnancy advances further! It just feels so surreal seeing them! I can't believe God has blessed us with 2! Just amazing! Thank you all for your continued prayers and encouragement! God is soooo good!
