12 weeks!

Today  I am 12 weeks! Woohoo! As you can see, the belly is getting bigger! Since Friday is my last week with an ultrasound till June 18 I'm going to start answering some questions weekly on the blog.

How big are the babies? Babies are about 2.5 inches long and weigh about .5 oz and about the size of a large plum!

What are babies up to? The features on the babies face are becoming more defined. The eyes have moved towards the front of the face and the chin and nose have taken more shape. The babies tiny fingernails are now well formed on fingers that will soon be able to open and close. In the babies brain, synapses are rapidly growing.

Maternity clothes? Yes some, not all!

Stretch marks? Not yet! I am putting cocoa butter on my belly in the morning and vitamin E oil on it at night!

Sleep? I sleep pretty good at night right now!

Miss anything? An occasional cup of coffee would be good some mornings but I'm not doing caffeine and don't want to even try decaf! What's the point! Lol

Feeling movement yet? Nope

Cravings? Popsicles (Banana and dreamsicle)

Food aversions? Yes!!!! I almost can't do any meat right now and I am such a meat lover normally but the smell totally makes me sick almost everytime I try to eat it!

Started showing? Yep since about 6 weeks

Gender? Don't know yet. We may know Friday!!! Check back for the reveal if we find out!

Mood? Good for the most part, I seem to have days where I have no patience! Haha

Looking forward to? Fridays ultrasound and hopefully finding out the gender of the babies!!!

Praying specifically for? Both babies to continue to grow and be healthy and for me to make it to 37 weeks!!!

If anyone has any other questions they want me to answer weekly let me know and I'll add it. There are some other questions that totally aren't relevant right now so I didn't add those just yet! Thanks for all the prayers and keep them coming! We are blessed and so grateful to be at 12 weeks with 2 healthy babies! I will add the reveal post Friday if we find out for sure!!!! Stay tuned! God is sooo good!

11 weeks

Today I am 11 weeks! Is the time going by fast to just me? Wow! Feels like I was just 4 weeks! Today was the first visit at the OB with Dr. McKee at St. Vincent's. While I love the doctor, I hate how big and busy the office is... We were there for 3 hours!!!! Sheesh! They drew 6 vials of blood and according to my weight, I have gained 7 pounds so far. Hey hey hey... There is 2 in there! Haha! We had an ultrasound and will have an ultrasound every visit because they are twins and they can't track their growth by measuring my belly. We heard their sweet heartbeats for the first time today!!! It was beautiful music to our ears! They don't let you hear heartbeats at the ART program so this was a fun first! Both babies were moving a lot but baby A was by far the most active one, it was doing flips! Baby A's heart rate was 173 and baby B's heart rate was 163. Both were measuring perfect but baby B is a little bigger. My guess is that baby A is a girl and baby B is a boy but that's just my guess and mostly because I dream I have a boy and a girl all the time! We met with Dr. McKee and he spoke about some specifics with twins but what shocked me is that he said I will probably not be able to work after 30 weeks! I'm going to need to kick it in high gear and get some stuff done, that's not a lot of time and it will go by quickly! He said everything looks great with both babies and he wants us to come back in 4 weeks which is June 18th. Also he wants us to have a targeted ultrasound at UAB between 18-20 weeks which is just routine for all twin pregnancies. A targeted ultrasound is a very detailed and thorough ultrasound. Next Friday, we are having a NT scan done at a high risk doctors office at Brookwood. An NT scan looks at the nuchal fold on the back of the babies neck to rule out genetic abnormalities. We decided to electively have this done mostly because the doctor said the ultrasound is very specialized and they can usually see the gender of the babies, haha!!!!! Soooo... Tentatively we may know what the sex of both babies next Friday. Also, it will be great assurance to know both babies are healthy.  God is certainly been so faithful and we are just so thankful that both babies continue to grow like they should! We continue to pray for their health and my health as this pregnancy advances further! It just feels so surreal seeing them! I can't believe God has blessed us with 2! Just amazing! Thank you all for your continued prayers and encouragement! God is soooo good!

We Graduated!!!

Today is 9 weeks 6 days! I can't believe I will be 10 weeks tomorrow! Time is flying by! We had our last ultrasound at the ART program today and both babies still look perfect! Baby A is measuring 10 weeks 1 day and hear rate was 168. Baby B was measuring 10 weeks 3 days and heart rate was 165. Both babies were moving all over the place today! Baby A was waving a ton to us and Baby B was doing the worm! Haha! It was so cute! I had tears of joy streaming down my face watching them move! I see Dr. McKee for the first time as an OB next Wednesday! Today was officially graduation day from the ART program! I have dreamed of this day for years and I never thought this day would come but it did and I couldn't thank God and the doctors and staff at the ART program enough! Here is a few pics of some of my favorites at the ART program! God is sooooo good!

9 week update a little early

Today I am 8 weeks and 5 days!!!! I wasn't suppose to go to the doctor for another ultrasound until this Wednesday but we had a small scare yesterday. Yesterday afternoon I started having some bright red bleeding. My initial reaction was obviously shear panic, but I still had a peace everything was ok. I wasn't having any cramping whatsoever which reassured me everything was ok. I called the on call nurse and she said just to lay down with feet up and drink lots of water which is what I did. We went in this morning for an ultrasound and both babies are doing perfect! Thank you Jesus!!!!!!

Baby A is measuring 9 weeks and 1 day and heart rate is 181!! We saw Baby A moving arms and legs! So neat to see them move!!!

Baby B is measuring 9 weeks and heart rate was 189!!! Both heart rates very strong!!! Baby B also showed off and moved around today!

The reason for the bleeding is because I have a small subchorionic bleed under one of the sacs. It is already clotting and resolving and they said it is fine and looks good. They are common around this time due to the placentas starting to work and form. I don't have to do anything special like bedrest since it is small and already resolving. We will go back 1 week from today for our last ultrasound at the ART program.

Please continue to pray with us and for our sweet babies that they continue to do well and that the bleed will be completely gone by next ultrasound! We serve an amazing God and we are so thankful and relieved our sweet miracles are still doing well!
